Problem

Millions of eligible households never claim welfare benefits because they don't know a scheme exists or whether they qualify.

Approach

About fifteen questions, then a deterministic rule engine evaluates every scheme's machine-readable eligibility and explains each pass or fail. No model decides who qualifies.

Engineering decisions

  • No PII stored: results are computed and returned, nothing is saved.
  • An urban salaried control household is included to show the engine discriminates.

What it does

  • Multilingual questionnaire
  • Explainable eligibility
  • One-tap sample families
  • Documented data gaps

Stack

  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • Rule engine

Limits, stated plainly
